If you want wallpaper - then I'm not doing this to be lazy however http://google.com/images is the place to go:
Simply search using the tag
Wallpaper: xxxxxxxx
or
Desktop: xxxxxxxxx
or
Background: xxxxxxxxx
It turns up million of result and the best thing is you can directly save the image to your systems hard drive, hence no need to download files.
I'm sure you know that if you right hand click the image result it will produce a list saving, "save as" and "set as background".

Just go to google, yahoo etc.... however you go to, then type avatars or wallpaper etc....... they had several websites. Best avatars is in Yahoo.
