Wishbone was a series of 40 episodes that ran on PBS from 1995-98. The character "Wishbone" was actually portrayed by three different dogs. If you really need to know why its production ended contact the production company:

Lyrick Studios
830 S. Greenville Avenue
Allen, Texas

I remember that show very well. My kids and I loved that show. It was a great show for kids who were too old for Sesame Street and too young for Masterpiece Theater.

It was a mistake to take it off PBS.

I loved that show. It was the best encouragement for kids to read classics.

Edited to add: Often I can find old shows on Youtube, but there are no Wishbone episodes on Youtube. YET! So, if some of you have them, post them!

OMG! I remember that show! WOW!
I couldn't find much on why it ended.
But even though the show ended in 1998, that little dog lives on in books, computer games, and VHS tapes.
In addition to the wiki site,
here is another:

It has the opening credits!

I'm not sure what caused the cancellation of the show, but reruns still go on PBS.
