Last year's NLCS was a cool series. Better than the ALCS or World Series, for sure.

102? I doubt it. They'd need at least one mo better starting pitcher.

Their pen should be amazing. At least relatively compared to other teams. Other teams might have a more dominant closer than Wagner at this point or one better setup guy or one better specialist or something but up and down their bullpen looks unbelievable.!!

One thing, I think maybe you're wrong about Valentin... He did not play much or well in 2005 but I think you can safely say he did not play well in 2005 because he did not play much. If you just remember the way he played when he was only on the bench for the Mets at the beginning of last year, HE WAS TERRIBLE!!! But look at his stats for full seasons 2002-04:
25 homers, 28 homers, 30 homers.

No doubt, 2006 was the Cardinals year, everything fell into place from Isringhausen getting hurt to Martinez and Hernandez getting hurt to Yadier Molina deciding he's a power hitter one fateful night at Shea Stadium.

The total number of mets victories will be a little above that total around 92,they should have a race with philly this year for the east title.we should all take a lesson that it doesn't matter how many reg. season victories a team has,its the playoffs is where a team makes its mark, take the Cardinals for instance they had the worst reg season victory total but won the prize with 11 wins in the post-season

I also agree w/ 87-92 wins. I'm not crazy about O.Perez in the rotation or do i trust the "older "out fielders in left or right. I am really hoping Lasting improve enough to overtake Green sometime during the season. One more thing. I prefer Valentin to play utilty role and have Anderson start at 2nd. I dont think Jose can do what he did last season.

Well I, too, am a Braves fan; but u really can't hate the Mets. I definately think they will win more than 87, but not by much. With Pedro injured, they have a pretty bad starting pen. However, Shawn Green might pull through. I think he was only doing bad because he was with the Diamondbacks. With a solid team around him, he might perform well.

More Their pitching is still ok their fielding is great and batting is #1 and this is saying alot since im a Braves Fan and I'm routing against them anyway They should have beaten the Cards the the NLCS and gone to the world series were the Tigers stunk it up so they would have won with ease.

I think the Mets will win no less than 90 games( depends how effective Martinez is and if Wright and Reyes do as well as last year)If Martinez cant make a go of it the Mets may have to trade to accomplish their plans.

87-92. They need help with starting pitching but of course almost every other team does too. I'm not too thrilled about the pen at the moment either given Sanchez's recent issues.
