Sweet potatoes I hope not. I work 7p-7a shift.
To answer though, I don't believe so. If the body gets used to a routine it will stay healthy, there are just less activities to do at nighttime which may lead to laziness. That and the bars are the only things really open, so may lead to excess drinking as well.
On my days off:
I like movies and have friends that can chat or hang out until wee hours of the morning so I am lucky that way. I go out to the bars/clubs but dont drink to excess; I just have a great time. If there was an allnight gym near me that was inexpensive I would be all set, but I usually have to wait until 5am to go to mine.
So now, the night will not take me into that sweet hereafter anytime soon. You hear me MOON GOD!!!!!!!!!

I did night shift for close to three years, i lost weight, could not eat properly, could not get a straight 8 hours sleep, always moody, the list goes on........... I was not healthy at all.
but then again I worked with people there that had been doing it all there working life and it did not bother them.
Night shift, I think is the best shift to work, it was more of a family type environment, everyone was friends with everyone....but my health was not very good and my marriage suffered big time, but thats another story.

I work night shift and we have talked about that very question. The human body is designed to be asleep at night resting. Forcing yourself to stay awake is unnatural. Many people who have worked here to retirement have died within a year or two after retiring.

People who work too hard i think definetly, but the night shift alone doesn't do it. Your body just needs time to recuperate or you dont fuction properly, start to feel older quicker.
