iv charged it all night to see if it was just the battery that is flat
and now pluged it into my computer and it isn't even registering that it's been plugged in!
can anybody tell me what to do?

you could try reseting? you have to toggle hold then press middle button and play/pause at same time, this should bring up the apple logo, hopfully! good luck

Are you sure its charged?
If yes, then hold down the menu button and the middle button until an Apple logo appears on the screen.
Your iPod may have crashed, this should only ever happen once.
And make sure your ipod isn't on hold at the top, because if it is it wont turn on

you have to push the button on the top to turn it on not the buttons on the front
