I love the name Dani for a girl, but have thought that may not work out when she gets older. My boys have names that can not be "nicknamed" or "shortened" like Michael to Mike as i am not very found of it. What are thoughts on Danika or Danica Rose? We would probably call her Dani. Last name Phillips. Thanks

Danika is cute. But, if you named her Danika, I would call her Danika. If you're going to call her Dani name her Dani.
I had a friend that named her daughter Danni Sue. She's probably 25 years old now and still goes by Danni Sue. I don't know why you think Dani won't work out when she gets older. If it's her name, it's her name.

Danika I like better than Danica because its unique. The letter K is rarely used in alternate spellings ie Nikole vs. Nicole..etc. I think its fine to call her Dani, and when se gets older she will either: love it and have her friends call her that too, love it and it only be a nickname certain people (like family) can use, or be creative and think of other things.

I love the name Danika and Danika Rose is beautiful. My husband really wanted to name his 2nd daughter (with his ex) Danika. They ended up compromising on Erika instead.

Danica's a nice name.
If you want to call her Dani or maybe even Danie, why not try Danielle? Or Daniella / Daniela.
I love that name, it's elegant.
