If a person is living in terrible pain with no hope of recovery no one, least of all any government or religion, should be able to decide for them if they wish to go on. However nothing involving life and especially death will ever be so simple. For example who is going to administer the injection? For the forerunners in this practice, what assurance do they have that they have absolutely no fear of future sanction from the law or litigation from family members of the deceased.
