I'de reccommend www.411.com or www.yellowpages.com
Those are the free ones.
Go and type in their information. If you have their phone number, trying doing a REVERSE information.
Experiment with those 2 sites. They are free, and pretty darn helpful.
There are many other ones, but nowhere free.

What type of search. There are some sites that will let you do background checks. If its someone you lost contact with then you can google there name, within the search you can choose links that allow you to narrow the search.

www.Intellius.com Is the best way, as long as you have their name and a valid credit card, you are fine.
