I understand that they're real-and that scene was shot during the meteor shower Pleaides. The shooting stars being captured on film was just a fluke-but its pretty cool, huh?
Also-special effects are costly and there is no real significance to the rest of the film, so why'd they be anything other than incidental to the night sky?

There was a killer whale (Orca) in Jaws? I don't remember that. I thought there was just a Great White Shark, Roy Schneider, Richard Dreyfuss and Robert Shaw.

In one of the scenes it was real. They were luckly to catch a falling star at the time
