Hi .I am unable to log onto my computer. The message reads "Before logging on you must register this version of Windows with Microsoft do you want to do that now?" Then the computer shuts down if I say "yes" or "no".
This is a Dell laptop Inspirion 6000 w/ Windows XP media edition. I have never encountered this before and it's not more than a year old. Thanks for any help.

definitely contact dell, they may have a way to override this. You should have registered your laptop earlier to have avoided this situation. If all else fails you should start looking for the restore cd's for your computer because you may have to do a full reinstall to get it functional again

I would try and register windows, online if you can, otherwise over the phone will do, otherwise call dell

I also own dell.but ur problem.....in have no idea better to consult dell support website really helpfull.........i have used and too try to install new os.lets see wat happens!!!!!
