My tv do it too and has to turn down the volume during commercials. The station isn’t turning up the volume when the commercials run, but that’s not the complete answer. Otherwise, you wouldn’t need to reach for the remote to turn down the volume during the commercial break. .

The Federal Communications Commission does not specifically regulate the volume of TV programs or TV commercials. However, broadcasters are required to have equipment that limits the peak power they can use to send out their audio and video signals. That means the loudest TV commercial will never be any louder than the loudest part of any TV program.

A TV program has a mix of audio levels. There are loud parts and soft parts. Nuance is used to build the dramatic effect.

Most advertisers don’t want nuance. They want to grab your attention. To do that, the audio track is electronically processed to make every part of it as loud as possible within legal limits.Everything is loud – the voices, the music and the sound effects.”

it particularly is no longer you. it particularly is definitely authentic. the theory in the back of that phenomenon is that many television watchers get up and go away the room in the time of a commercial - to apply the washing room, get a snack, despite. Broadcasting stations get their investment from commercial businesses - so they could be sure you get the message. The audio gets louder so which you will hear it from yet another room on your place, and could optimistically nonetheless purchase the product they're promoting.

Your TV isn't doing it. There has been a steady argument going about the way commercials have been recorded at a higher volume. It is very annoying and the public has asked that they uses normal sound volume settings.

The commercials are louder so when you take that time to go to the bathroom or the kitchen you will know when the program is back on and you can return.

Its in case you've stepped out of the room and might miss some of the finer points some advertiser is trying to impress on you. They think that SHOUTING WILL MAKE US MORE AWARE OF THE VALUE OF THEIR PRODUCT AND BUY IT!
I'm aware of televisions that automatically adjust the volume to compensate for ambient (background) noise, but I don't know if it would work in reverse and lower the volume of SCREAMING COMMERCIALS!
I wish that it woul---I SAID I WISH THAT IT WOULD!

It is likely it does, but it isn't your TV at fault, the channels do that. Five recently got a fine for doing this, if you want to you can report the channel to Ofcom.

Because advertisers know people leave the room doing commercials and they still want you too hear their message.

Oh, I’m so relieved that I’m not the only one who thinks that,
and I’m glad I’m not crazy.
But ya, idk…
Someone should do something about it right away.
