Hey, I am new to Fantasy Baseball this year but have done some football in the past. I am not sure who to be looking out for this season. I have ratings of players but I don't know which positions to fill first. Which positions should i look out to fill early in the draft?

You should draft based on best overall player. Keep in mind your roster. For example, if you have a 3B already and no 1B, pick the first baseman even if he is slightly worse. Also, pay attention to which positions are lilmited. I disagree with grumpy saying that SS and 3B are scarce positions. There are 12 3B in the top 80. Look at the names, A-rod, Wright, Cabrera, Atkins, Ramirez, Rolen, Zimmerman, Glaus, Hall, and Jones. THere are 11 SS in the top 60. How is that scarce? With players like REyes, Jeter, Rollins, Tejada, Furcal, H. Ramirez, Young and others it is one of the deepest positions. The positions that ARE scarce are 2B and C. DONT TAKE A Catcher EARLY. You can get players a notch below them 7-10 Rounds later. Definetly pick a 2B early. I always pick one ace Starter (Oswalt or Zambrano type) and one top notch Closer (BIlly Wagner, B.J. Ryan or TRevor Hoffman). Then I selcet a decent closer, and lots of middle round starters.
Here are some of my sleepers.
1B- Prince Fielder, and Jason Giambi
2B- Howie Kendrick, Brandon Phillips, and Ian KInsler
3B- Melvin MOra, Hank Blalock, SUPER SLEEPER AKINORI IWAMURA
SS- Orlando Cabrera, Jhonny Peralta
OF- Delmon Young, Alez Rios, Gary Sheffield, Curtis Granderson
HOPE I HELPED.

hitting is a few distance more suitable significant than pitching even as it includes drafting. hitters have a tendency to stay in good structure than pitchers do. any little issue could sideline a pitcher for an finished season, so that you dont favor to draft a pitcher that top and characteristic a wasted %.. i could seek for a real teir pitcher around the fifth round. closers i does no longer draft untill very overdue contained in the draft. it type of feels that a majority of closers both get injured or replaced throughout the year. it isn't worth taking severe draft choosing on closers. scower the ww durring the season and %. up the adult males that are going to develop into closers throughout the year.

If are in a standard rotisserie league it is a good idea to get some top starting pitchers and closers early. Good batters are easier to acquire after the season has started.

there are plenty of 1st basemen, OFs and 3rd basemen. Go for Sp and Closers and then u can trade them for other postions. I like to draft a lot of closers, top ones, then trade them for very good players to fill needs. They will come looking for u if u have the closers or Starting Pitching.
