I like them both and am naturally a bigger fan of Biggie b/c I am a newyorker, but biggie was a good lyricist and i really liked the beats behind his music, however 2 pac was a better lyricist b/c he was a poet and you could appreciate his work far better than biggie's. Both of them were excellent in using rap with a story telling technique which is what made them competitors, but they were both good for different reasons.

I agree and disagree with the New York girl. BIG and Pac were close lyrically but it all depends on how you look at it. It's like comparing Mos Def to Brotha Lynch or something. Pac was poetic but not that gritty. BIG was more "gangsta" or hardcore just listen to "Dead Wrong" or "Suicidal Thoughts", the first time I heard those I was like whoa BIG was raw. But it's like when I listen to Pac its like whoa, this guy was saying something more than just rhymes. I would say if you subtract everything [where theyre from, actual lyrics, real events. w/e] and just put them in the booth singin the same words Pac would come out better, he was just alil more versatile. Church ;)
