Ok well the Six Nations is a Europian rugby competition with 6 teams taking part(hence the name)- Ireland , England, France, Scotland, Wales and Italy. But there is also another competition within the six Nations Called the Triple Crown-Which Ireland have won the last 3 out of 4 years... Now the Grand Slam is one team winning both the Triple Crown and the Six Nations in the same year... At the moment only one team can do this and thats Ireland... only If they Beat Italy Next Saturday by a margin of 4 points or more and the Irish full time score is more than that of the French otherwise France will win -but they will only Win the six Nations as Ireland Claimed the Grand slam Yesterday and anyway France are not actually included in the Triple Crown!!! Its simple really...lol ...Also the triple Crown is only Between Ireland , England , Scotland and Wales

The Grand Slam is the official name for when the nation in the Nations Championship (4 Nations, 5 Nations and now the 6 Nations) wins every game in the series that year. Different from the Championship, where they are just the top of the table (due to drawing or losing one game).
The Triple Crown is won when one of the HOME sides (Original 4 of England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales) beats the other 3 teams, this does not include France and Now Italy as they both came late to the Nations.
You also have the Calcutta Cup which is only played between England and Scotland.
To win the Grand Slam is quite a feat and quite often years will pass without anyway getting the overall slam.
On the other hand there is the Wooden Spoon, honest this is a recognized competition and there is a duty to the country who does get the spoon to do charity work etc, this goes to the team that fails to win any match in a year (wales are on course this year!) over the past few years the Italians have been stuck with it.
Enjoy the remaining competition.

The Grand Slam is to win all of your games in the 6 Nations Tournament. The Triple Crown is to be either England, Scotland, Ireland or Wales, and to win all ones three games against these opposition teams in the 6 Nations tournament.
