i am living and married (to an Italian)now in Italy but am an American, do I still need to file taxes?

Yes. US citizens are subject to US taxation regardless of where they live. Grab a copy of IRS Pub 54 from the IRS website.

If you have income over the limit to have to file, probably $3300 per year for your status, you do.
