Check your company policy manual first. There may be provisions for comp time, or OT. If not, then ask the HR what the policy is.

After you get a copy of the policy, then cite it in your letter with details of when you worked, how long, and why.


If there is not a policy, then you should cite state/federal regs.

If it were me, I would opt for a paid day off after talking with the boss.

Dear sir, As you know we have been working in the KAUST Project as engineers & supervisors all having an E2 Level qualification. We would like to inform you that our basic salary is less now than it was previously, even though we have been working every friday which is our day off. Most days we put in more hours than our contracted shift. Please accept this letter as a request to change our present bonus system into overtime payment.
