Ever since I can remember the left part of my chest (at the bottom where the sternum "splits off" I've had an enlarged bone area. You can only tell by touching it. It's an inch or two long and maybe half inch wide and maybe 0.25 to 0.5 inches high.

Recently, though, it's gotten slightly larger. Is this pigeon chest or what?

I had an x-ray on another matter several months ago. The doctor saw nothing.

Note: I didn't ask the doctor about it, but he didn't see anything in my x-ray that concerned him.

There is a small protrusion of bone at the bottom of the sternum called the xyphoid process. In some people, it sticks out more than in others. It is nothing to worry about.

Everyone has that. I asked my doctor about it, and she said that about once a month someone comes in and says, Hey, what's this? It's just that most people, me included, never notice it until one day we do.
