Some system analysts maintain that source documents are unnecessary. they say that all input can be entered directly into the system, without wasting time in an intermediate step. do you agree? can u think of any situation where source document are essential

Hard-copy documents can be generated from soft-copy documents. Heck, if I can do (and SIGN) my taxes on-line, what do you think the original record is? It's data... and data can be used to generate both soft and hard-copy.

I worked for 4 years taking paper based processes out of a company. That freed up those employees to work on more useful things that managing which version of a document people were using.

Source document... physical sheets of paper, not neccesary.

source document are necessary, they are like an archive to ur enterprise
i think some courts in some countries don't take electronic data as a material, they prefer documents.. could be this one!
but usually it is better to keep them

For bios (or whatever) it should be.
BIOS = Binary Input Output Services.
