So tired of my beautiful black clothes fading with each wash ='( I usually wash on gentle cycle, cold water, little detergent. I've tried woolite dark, and it seems to leave the fabric kinda rough. Don't really like it. Any advice on how to keep blacks bold when washing??

I also turn them inside out, and dry on low for 10 minutes the most.

Wash and dry them inside out in cold water. You should also use a mild detergent as the others fade the material faster, try lux flakes or wool wash..xx

You can help stop clothes from fading when you first buy them by using 1/2 cup of Salt or White Vinegar which you would use about one cup of to the rinse water in your machine use only cold water, this will slow down the fading of your clothes. You can also wash your clothes in Baby shampoo that helps to stop fading as it is gentler and more mild than detergents and will still get your clothes clean I would suggest using a quarter of a cup to your normal load in cool water only. Good Luck !

Black usually does that, In the HeinzVinegar book it says: Any colored clothing item that has become dulled can be brightered by soaking it in 1 gallon warm water and 1 cup of vinegar. Follow this with a lear water rinse.
Maybe when you do your wash you can add 1 cup of vinegar to the rinse water, that might help.

Everytime you soak your black clothes, a little bit of the black dye goes into the water even if you don't use soap. The only way to not let that happen is to "dry clean" your black clothes. Dry cleaning, like the name says, cleans your clothes with chemicals without getting them wet. The downside is that you have to go somewhere and pay to have it done.
This is why so many Goths work at dry cleaners :)

I hardly ever put my dark clothes in the dryer. I hang them up to dry and this seems to help. I saw that Woolite has a new colored laundry soap. I havn't checkd Consumr Guide, but maybe it could help?

there was a cheer for black clothes, if the blacks are plain you can wash them then run them with black rit dye, you get it at walmart and such in the laundry section, washing in cold water should help too.

There is a product out there that helps to keep your blacks black. I think it's put out by Cheer. I've seen it advertised on TV, but it's been a while.
