The same reason some people still make jokes about Mexicans being wet backs and Blacks being lazy. Because the are ignorant, racist and insecure! Not saying either race is, I'm mistaken as Mexican and my boyfriend is black and is in no way lazy!!!
I'm Colombian and have had people make fun of me various ways since I can remember!!!
One day even if everyone was the same exact color, there would still be people who make fun of others because of the way the look, talk, or act.

I don't know; I'm Middle-Eastern (Assyrian/Chaldean, actually) but no one makes fun of us except for us, and we do it for inner empowerment.
