We lost our capital punishment system a long time ago, (UK), and I think that it should return. Our prisons are almost full and we need to do something with those that are in for life - they should have their life taken away - eye for an eye - you bet!

when they give the death penalty to the rich as well as the poor we will discuss this gain, until then it might be worth noting no one who has had the money to buy his own lawyer has be executed in this country, and think about the 47 men in Illinois who were sentenced to death ,the F,B,I, got involve and proved 35 of these men were not guilty, the prosecutor and the police lied , which is normal. but, they were not punished, why?? the Rampart scandal in Calif where the cops were committing the crimes and setting up others , after a federal investigation , 1000s of cases have got to be retried,no one has been punished in law enforce ment.
in view of how decietful our courts are today anyone who would vote for any one to be executed , should have the honor of sitting in the hot seat him or her self.

The death penalty is wrong,,,you have to draw lines..ie 17yrs no.18yrs old yes,an 18yrs old with a 17 yr old who kills someone is executed while the killer doesnt die cannot be right,,the law has got it wrong too many times and wrong once is too many...but life imprisonment should mean exactly that,,and if the conviction is found to be wrong it may be put right,,,but not if the person has been executed

If I lived in the US where one reads stories of drunken public defenders failing to prevent flawed convictions in capital cases, I would be against the death penalty.
In the UK where the legal aid system indulges the criminal without means, I would welcome the death penalty as both a deterrent and a way of reducing the cost of accommodating criminals.

The death penalty has never been the real issue, it is the bias and unequal manner in which the death penalty is levied that most people find abhorrent.

the system in britain and america is to entice folk into crime,
if the cops catch a gang of bank robbers, the safe cracker the planner the gun men thegettaway driver all go to jail.
if they catch a murdering rapist who has been brainwashed by the pornographers and those who promote murder and violence on the screen, they should be arrested as aiding and abeting and classed as part of the crime, if the killer hangs so should those who promote it.outherwise they just go on and on corrupting the people and making a fortune.thats why i say no to hanging, because our system is too rotten to
have anybody who is innocent, we are all being demoralised.

I am for. They need to get rid of the child molesters and
the murders. And rapists. And for those that always quote
the Bible that you have to love your enemy. Thats true. If
the victim decides to forgive the enemy thats great. But
when it comes to the laws of the land. The law needs to
be enforced. Forgiveness is between the victim, the enemy
and GOD.

I think life in prison terms are immoral and dangerous without a death penalty. A life prison term gives a convicted murderer permission to murder as many of his prison mates and their guards as he can find a way to murder without any further real consequences possible.

My vote, kill people who have shown a willingness to kill people so they can't kill anyone else.

I'm for it, with discretion though, there are those to whom life in prison would be nothing, but death scares them. But then there are those (Muslims) who are willing to die for what they believe in. In those cases, it's be best to let them discover what it's like to be in a cell with a muscle-bound guy who's reaaaallllyyy light in the loafers.
