I really never realized how powerful the office was until this present administration. George W. was hellbent on getting us into this war. The kiss-up congress supported him along a party line. He is the commander -in-chief and conveniently takes the advice of generals who support him, like Tommy Franks. He appoints Supreme Court Justices. If different justices were there during the 2000 election fiasco, the president may have been Al Gore. He appoints cabinet members who represent you & me in international affairs. He has the power of the Veto. Also, he can pardon felons who , like you or I, would otherwise spend many years in prison.

Bush got us into the Iraq war, not congress. Presidents make a huge difference.

And prices go up an average of 3% every year. If you aren't getting a raise to match or excess that every year, then you are being paid less every year as your business raises prices an average of 3% every year.

You must know that major corporations rule America. Other than Reagan, most of the presidents and most of the Congresses have been controlled by Big Oil, Big Banks, and other Big Corporations. A pox on them all.
