I was an avid fan of CNN . . . big time ! I love being informed and up to date on current affairs, so watching CNN was a past-time for me .
THEN, along came FoxNews. . .. . I was accustomed to watching CNN, but every once in awhile, I'd switch back and forth, just to see what each were reporting . And then the discrepancies began to reveal themselves . It became easy to notice that CNN had NOT been telling the whole story, and this really pissed me off,. . . .. .I had placed my trust, MY TRUST, in a network who had blatantly been hiding the other half of the story. . . CNN !!
Now, I also realize that Fox is slanted to the right, but at least they tell the whole story and then I can discern whether I agree or not !!!

Do the Liberals realize that most FoxNews viewers are former CNN fans, but left jaded after being lied to ?

I'm in the same boat as you. For the longest time I'd watch CNN to get all the up to date info. Then, when I started watching Fox News, it was as if I my eyes opened. It's amazing what they don't tell you.

Eventually I got so fed up with the half-lies that I began to watch Fox News exclusively, and have been quite impressed with the amount of information that has been presented.

It's funny now, because when I talk about current events with my friends who still watch CNN, they only know half of what's going on and ask me for the details. ;)

Just recently I started watching some of their prime time news again (Lou Dobs and Paula Zhan), and I've been amazed at the amount of bias that they present things with. It's ridiculous and polarizing.

I had a hard time understanding how anyone could watch something so extreme and claim that it wasn't partisan in the worst of ways. I realized then that there are really two types of people who watch CNN. People who don't mind the bias, and people who don't know about it.

The people who don't mind the bias usually fall into the same political bent as CNN (left to extreme left). They're happy as long as those evil republicans, christians, or any other scapegoat that isn't them are being attacked. This includes people who watch Fox News.

The people who don't know about it are typically ignorant, and eventually when they wise up, they move to a more reliable source (Fox News).

It really is quite interesting.

Earnest ... Same here. I also was an avid fan of CNN/Headline News simply because they used to be the only 24 hour news source around.

However, I began to get suspicious way back when they repeatedly aired a news story about a criminal trial in-progress where they felt it was important to point out that the accused and the victim were of different races. Their story never explained how that issue was relevant. In fact, all my research confirmed the parties involved actually were of a different race, but this had no bearing in any aspect of the trial. Their report on that story made as much sense as saying that the suspect was blue-eyed while the victim was brown-eyed. So what? Since then, I've learned to be more suspicious and cautious about information from all news sources.

I'm now 57 years old. I remember a time in America when news was news. The network news programs did occasionally feature commentary, but it was clearly stated as such.

Now, though, there's a lot of analysis thrown into the mix. Some of the analysts appear fair-minded; however, some easily reveal their political/social leanings. That kind of news is not news at all, of course. Unfortunately, though, many listeners/viewers/readers don't know the difference and this intensely polarizing effect is the natural by-product.

To make matters worse, there's a combative element to more and more interviews on so-called news programs. You'd expect there to be a difference of opinion much of the time, but resorting to dramatics in a news program is a big turn-off with me. If the commentary programs (Olbermann, O'Reilly, Matthews, Dobbs, etc.) want to engage in that, I guess it's not preventable. But on a news program, it just doesn't belong.

I DO sometimes enjoy the news programs where a small number of public participants are brought into the mix to voice their opinions regarding a current event. But that zoo-like program CNN used to have with a ranting/cheering audience was way over the top; completely unacceptable, but I know that some people consider that kind of bantering as news. Utterly ridiculous!

I fear it's going to get worse before things begin to get better.

Hey Mr. Gay Parade up your @ss, I think your wrong on that.
There are lots of reason why Cnn is losing viewers. One reason because they dont like to ask tough questions, like
Fox do. Just like Mr. Wallace asked a question to former
President Clinton, a question where Clinton got mad at and walked out pretty much. Same reason why Mr. Edwards didnt want to go to the Debate that Foxnews was hosting. Cause he new they were going to ask real questions. Another reason is also they dont report the whole story. The only person thats worth watching on CNN is Glenn Beck. Hes awesome.

Tha's true. I started out with the network news (long time ago) and then started watching CNN. Found Fox news and now, that is where I go to get BOTH sides of an issue. For anyone who bashes Fox news, either you have never really watched it or you just refuse to admit that it is the only place you can go to get both sides of an issue. Yes, as you said, it is slanted to the right, but at least they give the other side more than equal opportunity to voice their opinion. Where else can you get that?

Probably not. Those who aren't willing to think for themselves are the 1's who stayed with CNN.

I think you should have resorted to the internet, NPR, and shows on PBS for the "real news" you were after.

Your current epiphany leaves little to be desired or discussed. FoxNews was the brainstorm of a rich conservative puke that spent any amount of money it took, despite ratings, despite finacial loses, to deliver the worst form of governing principles to the masses on a 24/7 schedule. WHY?
Because the Campaign's he bankrolled made his other business practices lucrative beyond belief.

But then, I guess you wouldn't get that info on FoxNews.
