I am just not really sure why people bothering answering questions if they are going to give a stupid answer like that. I was asking if i could take it out to SLEEP. or EAT. sounds like a reasonable question to me.

Nope. My wife has her tounge peirced and from what I understand the tounge is the fastest healing muscle in the human body and can heal in less than a day. I've not actually SEEN it happen, but my wife hasn't taken her tounge ring out since I've met her except to change it.

If you leave it out for a period of time, the hole will close. Also, until the piercing is healed, it is prone to infection.

NOPE! never remove the tongue piercing unless you want it to close in a couple of minutes.

If you just had the piercing done, make sure you sleep with head elevated and drink plenty of iced cold water/savor on ice chips to help reduce swelling. Mine took about a month to heal and i replaced with shorter barbell after the swelling has gone down.
