For example, this sounds horrible: Fred and Ralph are talking. Fred says, " Where's my dog?" Ralph replies," he's out back. Fred then says, "Why?". Ralph then replies, " Because I forgot." Fred says" You idiot." Ralph relpies," I'm sorry."

I know there's a better way to put dialogue in an essay, I need to use it [dialogue] as an example, but I don't know how i put it in.

Depends on what type of essay you are writing. I used to write it like this:

essay essay essay essayessay essayessay essayessay essayessay essayessay essayessay essayessay essayessay essayessay essayessay essayessay essayessay essayessay essayessay essay:

"Where's my dog?" says so and so

"I don't know," replies ralph.

"He's not back yet."

"Where is he?"

"etc"

"etc"

in one conversation,in response to Fred asking "where's my dog?" Ralph angrily replies," how the heck should I know?"

"Whats your problem?" Fred asks. ralph yells,"GO to hell!"
