I would go with B. The Greeks were the best navigators in the Mediterranean Sea, the main battles of the Persian Wars were in 490 b.c, 480 b.c., and 479b.c, they never conquered any Greek city-states on mainland Greece, they only reconquered some city-states in Ionia during the Ionian revolt. Thats why i would go with B.

It seems to me that the answer would be d because the Phoenicians were noted for their sea worthiness and not the Persians, Babylon defeated Egypt not Persia at the famous battle at Carchemesh in 605 BC, and the battle of Thermopylae proved that Persia did not conquer most of the Greek city states. Although Persia did not conquer most of the Greek city states, they were still Greece's main rival in the Mediterranean world until the reign of Alexander the Great.

D
The battle of Thermopylae kept the Persians from conquering most of the city states.Alexander came along a couple hundred years later and whooped them good in their land.
Best navigators at the time were the Phoenicians.I believe it was Nebuchadnezzar who defeated the Egyptians and he was a Babylonian.
So I say D.
