ELVIS..There isn't a person over 12 in this world who doesn't know who Elvis is, I bet ther aree a lot who wouldn't know Lennon..even though he was great too.

I was trying to think of the actual definition of "icon"....
I was going to say Elvis even though I obviously prefer Lennon and then I started to think that Elvis's popularity while strong in the US doesn't seem to be quite as much overseas while The Beatles and John Lennon were known and loved worldwide.
I could be wrong on that but lets face it...this is just an opinion and not something that I will have to back up with research.

I am going with the best singer and that would be Elvis. He is also the bigger icon in my eyes worldwide. ( remember Graceland , Vegas anyone ) and lets speak about Lennon........

Elvis, more people know his face, but I think Lennon made more of a contribution to society.
