That's funny you asked that question. I wish I could remember the details but on the news the other day it was said that one town/city was going to have to advance their time two hours ahead. Not only for Daylight Saving Time but also because that town/city was going to be in another Time Zone. They were just on the border of two different Time Zones. Think of the adjusting those folks are going to have to go through.
I try to adjust gradually for Daylight Saving Time. Last night I set my alarm clock half an hour ahead and tonight another half hour ahead. It doesn't seem to be as difficult that way.

LOL maybe... but wouldn't knowing celebrating the actual start of the new year be easier if we all moved closer to the international dateline??!! True* But you'd still have to re-set your watch on the plane flight, if you were going from perth to melbourne or sydney!
Wait: here's a good idea, how about we follow queensland's idea and not have daylight savings at all?! LOL
lozza

It's far better an idea than the screwballing with DST like George Bush and follied friends have allowed. I got to wonder which of his friends stand to PROFIT from this? Things in Washington D.C. don't just get done unless somone makes a buck from it--and it's NOT going to be the common worker!!

The only serious problem with dragging out early dark hours is that little school children will be killed in accidents walking to school in the dark. It has happened here, and it's been a heart breaker.

sounds like a good plan to me! I hate this time change much worse than the one in the Fall. I don't mind gaining an hour of sleep but I hate like hell losing one. But, on the plus side, it doesn't get dark so early so that's good. I need sleep.

in the arctic or antarctic circles, in Alaska or Canada, you will possibly be able to get some days or perhaps weeks or (a techniques north) months of non-provide up sunlight hours or darkness, yet to get six months on, six months off, the only places in the international to pass are the poles. NOWHERE in Alaska has six months of non-provide up sunlight hours. NOWHERE in Canada has six months of non-provide up sunlight hours. NOWHERE in Greenland, Siberia, or Scandinavia has six months of non-provide up sunlight hours. in straight forward terms the poles have six months of sunlight hours observed by making use of six months of nighttime, and no person lives there. Your woman is mendacity.
