Their chemistry is awesome, but they are not as deep as the Mavs or Spurs, and they have little margin for error. However, with Yao and McGrady clicking at the same time, they're unstoppable. The other teams in the West might have an answer for McGrady, but they can't touch Yao! If the Rockets win the championship this year, it will be the feel-good story of the decade because of all the injuries they have sustained. Do you think the Spurs or Mavericks could keep their playoff seed if Dirk Nowitzki or Tim Duncan missed 32 games? I don't think so. The Suns already proved that they're pretty much helpless without Steve Nash. Go Rockets!

The Rockets have the right combination of players to win a championship. The only thing missing from their team is a consistent point guard. Tracy McGrady is obviously the focal point of this team and Yao Ming has become a force this season (before he went down with an injury and now that he is back I do not know how assertive he will be). With TMAC on the perimeter and Ming on the inside, the Rockets have an inside-outside combo worthy of notoriety. With that being said, the supporting cast seems to be strong too. With Ming out, the Rockets still managed to win. Luther Head, Dikembe Mutombo, and Shane Battier are all key pieces to the Rockets making a title run. They have the ability to defend and score points in bunches. They have already beat the Mavs with Yao..so the Rockets are a threat to win it all.

I think the Rockets do have a chance but teams like the mavs and suns have higher chances. But if T-Mac and Yao play really well together, they are definitely capable of going long ways. They would need to beat maybe Utah first round which i think they can do, but then they face most likely the Mavs which would be a very difficult matchup. If they beat the Mavs, they would be possible favorites to win it all. They definitely have a chance but nothing will come easy.

Not this year. Love T Mac and Yao but they are not playing like a team. Beside the West is too strong. Mavs, Spurs or Suns will finish the Rockets in first round.

Yes, they do. They play extremely good defense, and defense wins championships, and if they are willing to let Yao go with the flow of the offense instead of force feeding him in the post like they were in the beginning of the year, they shouldn't have a problem scoring.
While they're not the favorite to win it all in anyone's book, it would be foolish to rule them out. Don't sleep on the Rockets.

Well if they have Tracy McGrady and Yao Ming playing together they might have a chance to win a championship. They would have to beat the Suns, Spurs, or Mavericks to get the NBA Finals but with McGrady and Ming they could beat those teams.

While I agree that T-Mac and Yao need to be playing well together, I also think that the Rockets will need scoring from one other person. And I think it's going to have to be Rafer Alston--him being as aggressive as he was when McGrady was out. The Rockets will NOT win if only their 2 all-stars go off. They need the scoring from that 3rd man....

I hope so, which will mean T Mac will get out of the 1st round of the playoffs for the first time in his career. Do you believe it?
But the championship dont think so.
