I have had and loved my Ford Mustang and I now have a Chevy Monte Carlo.....

Depends on the Chevy. Obviously, Corvette is far better than the Mud-stain, but that isn't a fair comparison.
Here's something to consider though. The last Z28s to roll out were made in 2002, and they came with 305 hp (advertised). Ford needed another 3 years before they could make a Mustang with 300 hp. The best comparison between the two is the 2005 Mach 1 vs. the 2002 SS. Both are low 13 / high 12 second cars, stock. At that point, it is a driver's race.

Being that Chevy currently does not have a car that competes head to head with a Mustang, the Mustang wins by default. The only Chevy that would beat a Mustang Boss 429 in the late 60's early 70's was a Corvette. No Chevelle, Nova, or Camaro was as quick as the Boss.

are you asking old or new?
for new mustang. chevy doesnt have anything to compete with it. (yes i know about the vette) But for the price range chevy does not offer anything. The New GTO was good. maybe chevy should make a new chevelle.
now for the old stuff. Pontiac is my awnser....
But as far as performance with the older stuff FORD!!!
They won more races in NASCAR and in NHRA in the 60's than chevy. the only thing that could hang was mopars mighty hemi and that could barley beat them. the ford 427 sohc would probably beat the hemi in the nascar circuit. with the torino's more areodynamic body. but nascar wouldnt allow the 427. Mopar probably paid off the officals in Nascar.

That's simple. Chevy. I know because I have both. The Mustang is just not on the same level as the Camaro.Nova SS or the Corvettes I have. It just screams cheaply made all over the place.

Definatly go with th chevy me and my boyfriend bought a camaro together hopped it up! haven't lost a race yet! but i no we will its not the greatest car but its an 85 camaro i roc z 28 with a bored out 350 it does 11 down a quarter mile and my next racing season it will be a 10 second car WOOHOO can't wait to take that thing down the track! 600 mph without nitrous next year maybe and with a 200 shot of nitrous should do pretty good
