Its just a matter of ruthless dictators using their people at all cost to advance their own agendas.

Same story over and over again.
Also the same, is the men that die for valor, for country.
Let them never be forgotten

BO-DEAN --are you dumb or what? What facts are you reading?

the spartan 1300 didnt defeat the persian army, after 2 days of battle with a flanking position that was uncontested, the spartans were sandwhiched and fell. Every last one of them.

It wasnt just 300 spartans, although they are most remembered, 1000 greek soldiers stood to fight tomaintain the appearance of a steady force, so that the majority of the greek army could retreat and regroup because of the attack to come at their flank

Greece was destroyed, the Greeks retreated and regrouped, and ambushed the pursuiing persian fleet, and beat them back home.
after 150 years persia was defeated

It is a true story of how the Greeks, through the efforts of 300 Spartans, defeated the Persians at Thermopylae.

I suppose the makers of the film may have had some political statements to make, though. You'll just have to ask them.

I sure hope not... I miss movies that were just shearly entertaining or at least tried to convey some sort of broader truth.. narrowing down a movie to make it convey a purely politcal message cheapens it in my opinion...

its the worst when its in childrens films like "Happy Feet"

300 is a pretty good movie! I felt it went into good storytelling, and several political overtones that we all can learn from.

In the end, Bush and the neocons need to watch it!
