Im 17 years old ... Im moving california and im going to star studying in college next semester. I had tried leaving last august with my mom, then she couldnt because of work. Said she would go with me on thanksgiving break...same thing... said she would go christmas break... same thing...
Lost two college semester. So I said i would go by myself since i have friends there anyway.
She was ok with my decition. Dad said the same thing.
Im supposed to be leaving on thursday.
Now all of a sudden my grandmother says she will call social services if they let me go. and has told my whole family how crazy i am.
I really dont want to loose another semester. And if I wait until im 18 i will because thats in 7 months.
can she really do anything?
can she stop me?
what can i do?

Your parents are legally liable for you until the age of 18. But, if they give their permission for you to leave for college, and set everything up at college for you to be there, I see nothing wrong. They need to have everything paid for, housing, school, food. You would not be considered a run away, and you would have your parents permission. I think your grandmother will lose her battle. Only your parents can stop you.

If you have your parents permission everything should be alright you need your parents to talk to your Grandma
and find out what is going on with her
and what is the reasoning behind her not wanting you to go
She loves you too
becareful and go forward and find out about school and about your Grandma

Grandma has no say in the matter..
If your parents say you can go then you can go..
Even if they said no, you could still go away to college.
No one can stop you from going to college...
