My fiance drives a Trans Am which is the same car he had SLP exhaust on it and it was louder than Flowmasters due to less restriction. SLP is just a resignator, Flowmaster is a chambered muffler, the muffler is going to "muffle" the sound.

SLP = Super Loud Performance

Flowmaster will sound better, but the SLP will be louder.

We usually install a 50 series Flowmaster with 2 1/2" tail pipes. Has a great tone and very throaty. Sweet. This way the car is still street legal and emissions legal. Taking off the convertor and installing headers could get you a fine from the Feds or even local agencys.

The LOUDEST muffler is the SLP Loudmouth II catback system. They are basically two bullet mufflers built into straight pipes.

As far as Flowmaster sounding better, that is all opinion. Personally, I prefer Borla over Flowmaster.

You can hear what these sound like before you buy them at LS1 Sounds.

Hope that helps you out.

If you want to go super loud (or super quiet) a custom exhaust will be louder (or quieter) than either.

SLP and Borla are louder than flowmaster though, as they partially bypass the muffler.
