I know Sat night is not the best time to go and get an application or talk to the manager. I feel so sad and useless as a person cause I'm 30 and still can't my 1st job. I'm not lazy but have fear. I wanted someone to come with me but I can't find anybody. This is my dreamjob and I want it really bad but I'm scared to get an application and go for an interview. I hate interviews. I need major help.

You can ask for the application any old time, and bring it back at a quieter time to hand it in to the manager once you've filled it out.

Asking for the application is so simple - you're just asking for a piece of paper, they probably hand them out all the time. (At least once for every person working there, right?) It's no scarier or more remarkable or weirder than asking where the cafe is, or saying "Thanks!" to the person at the register.

If you're worried about the interview, you should practice with a friend beforehand. I'm not sure, but maybe some place like the local unemployment office can help recommend someone to practice your skills.

And remember - the manager doesn't enjoy an interview much either! It's hard to think of questions, they don't want to seem mean - they just want to find someone good to put on their team. So you could always start off the interview by saying 1) how nervous you are and 2) how much you want to work at B&N - both those things will count in your favor!

Look at it this way - you might be scared you'll mess it up or it won't happen. But if you don't do anything at all, it definitely won't happen!

Just walk up to the counter, and ask for an application. The only way to get over a fear is to face it. If you keep putting it off, it's just going to get worse. Like Nike says.... Just do it. :P... Once you fill it out, all you do is wait for a phone call. No big deal. And if you get a call for an interview. Walk in and just be yourself. Think positive and everything should be just fine. I used to be the same way. I didn't get my first job until I was 20 because of it. But it's okay now. Cuz I faced my fear. :)
Good luck. ^_^

a million. Date one among them for an hour, i might relatively spend an hour with them, then in user-friendly terms a million kiss. 2. digital mail handle, so i'm able to shop up a correspondence with them. 3. this is a puzzling one, yet i think of i might relatively have Nick say i'm extraordinarily. 4. Meet them and get hugged, which would be marvelous! 5. Haha, i admire this question and the obtrusive answer is marry a Jonas. . . the two Nick or Joe will do, i'm no longer that choosy lol! sturdy activity, I enjoyed it! Cool Survey! i might like to verify yet another! Peace Love Jonas! =]

Why don't you call the store and ask when a good time to come in would be? I understand you are nervous, job interviews are scary but you won't get an interview without even filling out an application. Just be yourself and think positive.

Good luck!

aww poor thing. shower and eat before you go .. tell yourself you can do this. make a phone call saying what your about to do with your friend ask for their support on the phone. ask them if you can call them when your finished again . that really helps and gives the nudge you need . they can encourage you right up to the front door of B&N. then walk right in as say "hi i'll like an applicatin to work here" thats it. they'll give you one and you either fill it out righ tthere or take it home and bring it back the next day whe you have more courage again . for that interview they will ask youwhy you want to work there .. ask yoursel f that first and search your heart as to why you do then tell them that exactly .. just be yourself dont be anything else but YOU.. relax... you do need somone encouraging you there as in on the phone .. or in am IM or something like that .. YOU CAN DO IT !! good luck .. let us know when ya get that job.

Suck it up fella. You've got nothing to lose. Look on the internet for some advise about job interviews. Remember that your needs and aspirations are not very important to the interviewer, but that you'll get the job if he or she is convinced you will do a great job at meeting their needs..... and you won't be a head case. It would be a good idea to interview for a few jobs you really don't care about first, to get used to being in the hot seat. So be cool and go for it.

One thing I have found that helps is to play make-believe. That is, pretend you are someone else. As if you were in a play about some very confident person who was going to get an application. Think out your lines and play your part!
