if a girl is 14 and the guy is 18 and they slept together, thats statutory rape right?? i heard if she only just under the legal age it doesnt count... a good friend of mine just got a new boyfriend, hes 18, shes 14, n im worried. i want her to know wether it is legal??

In Victoria, people under the age of 18 cannot have sex with anyone. The exception to this being if both people are over 16 and neither party is more than 2 years older than the other.

Age of consent laws vary from jurisdiction to jurisdiction, so check it out in your state. However, unless she's over 16, I don't think there is anywhere in Australia that would permit a sexual relationship between a 14 year old and an 18 year old.

They would have to prove they had sex. If both deneigh it then the police will lie (usually to the younger one) and tell her that he already admited, try to manipulate her in any way they can and toy with her emotions. She needs to continue to deny it at this point. One of the best things to do is repeat only the following "no comment" they give up much quicker.

i knw in nz the guy can be charged with stat rape,even if it was 100% consensual.
