Have you used or seen the PODS system? It is super. I used it to move from San Diego to Phoenix about 3 months ago. I sold a 3 bedroom house, so all the furniture in the house and garage items went into the POD. I had 30 days to load it and have it picked up. It was nice because I was not on a time-crunch schedule like I would have been if I had used a U-Haul. Plus I saved thousands of dollars versus a a regular moving company. Try the POD....It is very convienient. They pickup and deliver exactly when they say they will.

Select the area you want to live in first. I love "North County" San Diego, about 1/2 hour north of SD proper. I'm assuming you've already researched homes and/or rentals. If not, be certain you've got a place to go TO is another strong recommendation. Once you've selected the area and then have an abode to move to, the rest is pretty simple but all depends on where you are moving from and how much "stuff" you've got, nights on the road, if carrying pets, etc. There are many factors to consider but I am unable to help more since I find your question a bit vague. But Good Luck!

Rent a U-haul and load it up and go. Oh yea, sell your old house and make sure you buy a new one.
