You have a problem with the drain going to the sewer. There is a partial blockage. Call a plumber to clean the drain out. If you want to try and save a few dollars you can rent a power snake from a rental company. They'll show you how to use it.

PUT SOME LYE DOWN THE FLOOR DRAIN. PUT ABOUT A CUP OF THE DRY LYE UNDER THE COVER AND POUR ABOUT 3 CUPS OF HOT WATER IN ON TOP TO DISTRIBUTE IT'S EFFECTS. LEAVE IT ALONE FOR AN HOUR AND THEN SEE IF THE PROBLEM IS GONE. USE GLOVES AND FACE SHIELD. IF THIS DOES NOT CURE THE PROBLEM, YOU WILL NEED TO USE A TAPE/SNAKE AND CLEAR OUT THE ROOTS OR WHATEVER. THE OTHER CHEMICAL OFTEN USED IS SULFURIC ACID BUT THAT EATS METAL AND I CAN'T RECOMMEND IT BECAUSE OF THAT. IT WOULD BE NICE TO RUN A CAMERA DOWN THERE FIRST AND SEE WHAT THE PROBLEM IS BUT YOU DON'T HAVE TO DO IT UNLESS THE PROBLEM RECURS AND THE TAPE DOES NOT CURE IT.

Your main drain is clogged, and the water is taking the path of least resistance. Call a roto router service.
