Maybe everyone is missing the point. Boredom is the result of the mind searching for something and the body not providing the satisfaction. The remedy is to identify the offending desire and appease it in some way.
As for wasting 5 points, what you have really done is spent 5 points of your cache and created a world of opportunity for yourself and others to reap more.
We should all rejoice.
