United Statesians believe that America is not a continent, United Statesians believe that there are South and North America. So why do you call Central America: Central America? Shouldn't it be called "Souther North America"?... since that according to you there is no America where Central America is in the center?

You're funny! You called us United Statesians, lol. Anyway to answer your question not all Americans think that way. I don't know why we call ourselves Americans because we're not the only people on this continent. America is a large continent that consist of North, Central, and South American countries. But I guess the term "American" is reserved for the USA because of the name of our country. I understand what you're saying but please don't think all Americans think like this. I understand that America is a vast place with several great countries, Brazil included.

What is a United Statesian? Clever, but no such thing exists smart, aleck! We call ourselves Americans not because we believe that we are the only ones in "America" but because it is a shortened version of United States of America. That's a mouthful so it was shortened to Americans a long time ago. The world now attaches the title of Americans to U.S. citizens. No need to get your panties in a ruffle. It's not some kind of slight.

There are the continents of North America and South America and there are different terms to describe areas within those continents such as Central America. Why do have such a chip on your shoulder over such a mundane thing???

What makes a continent is not decided by whomever wants to make it up. It is a scientific entity. Continents are formed by plate tectonics. It is a scientific fact that America is not one continent.

No that is not. there is this convoluted non-good judgment that people who think of they might desire to have the means to return to the U. S. have which fits like this. "united states of america" is what the u . s . a . is named. There are different countries in the "American Continents" (a version with even much less good judgment tries to distinguish those in North united states of america from something of the "Americas") considering the fact that those countries are additionally on continents that have the be conscious 'united states of america' of their call, they too are human beings and have a real to the rights of yank (US) electorate. Did you catch that? A turn area is that considering the fact that there are different countries in the North and South American continents, we are actually not without delay being overbearing in calling ourselves 'human beings' as though we've been the only ones, and could be calling ourselves 'United Statesians'. (This overlooks the actuality that the U. S. of Mexico is likewise the two 'United Statesian' then, yet calls itself 'Mexico'.) you like in user-friendly terms be involved approximately this term in case you purchase into the best judgment, above.

Yes, there are North American and South American continents. There is Central America as a Geographic Region. (Like Eastern Europe or the South Pacifc.) There is the United States as a political region.

Geographers determined these things and the location of North and South America has nothing to do with the United States of America.

I know America is a continent, but I'm not sure why it's 2 continents. Central America is the designation we give the isthmus that connects them, but that just makes it easier to think they're 2, not 1.

We are the United States of America. That is our name, we belong to one government. Canada calls their country Canada, and Mexico chose to call theirs Mexico. We are the United States of America which like Canada and Mexico, we too are part of North America.
