Omigod! I just saw 300 today and I'm totally blown away! What an awesome movie! I was fascinated every minute! The script, the costumes and sets, the music, everything was just PERFECT!!!
I was blown away by the action scenes, they were choreographed very nicely and looked pretty realistic. I own swords and I know it's not easy to swing those babies for long, you really have to be in good shape and these guys really looked it! Like real warriors not the weekend warrior type.
OK, there was some gratuitous nudity (young "oracle" in flimsy gown, the Queen of Sparta) to keep the young, testosterone laden men interested until the carnage but I guess that's only fair as we women were treated to the sight of all these buff guys in skimpy war outfits.
The bad guys were suitably bad, LOL! Ah, it was just a spectacular feast for the eyes in many respects and was very inspiring. No doubt I'll go see it again while it's still in the theaters and immediately snap up a copy when it comes out on DVD!

The movie was good as long as you have the right expectations going into it. Honestly I don't think the acting was great. I'm not sure how Greeks are supposed to sound, but they shouldn't sound Scottish (Leonidas) or British (Queen Gorgo). The script was alright, and I did appreciate the bit of humor that was injected into it. I totally laughed at the fight at the end when it was said "We are against an army merely three times our size!"
And did anyone else keep looking at Dilios (David Wenham) and think, that's Faramir (LOTR)!
The artistry, cinematography and effects ... well, that's why everyone wanted to see it. The homage to Frank Miller's book was fantastic, many of the scenes nearly identical. The action was good, the gore was over the top so as not to be too disgusting or sanguine except to the most skiddish.
It won't win any awards for acting or screenplay, but I think it has a chance for makeup or costume design. Except for a few glimpses of mammaries, this movie was completely testosterone-y. I read the Men's Health article on how Butler worked out like a pro athlete for 4 months for this role, and how the last few weeks were simply to get exaggerated definition. Dood, it showed.
If you go expecting a so-so script with good action and fantastic visuals, you will not be disappointed.

I saw most of it but was tired and did not stay, theaters do that to me. I found the movie entertaining but never really liked mixing reality with computer generated animals. It reminded me of Mehrunissa for some reason, and the Spartan History has always been interesting. From what I saw I would rate it at a solid 8. (Very High for me)_

I went to see it for the eye candy alone - - particularly Gerard Butler. His eyes were so intense! It was a good movie, but I guess battle movies just aren't my thing. I'll get it when it comes out on DVD, but I probably won't see it again in the theatre. I'm happy to hear that many love this film and think it is the best they've seen this year. I hope it gets awards and hope that GB gets the recognition he deserves, because he has always been a fantastic actor.

Hello dear friends. aha . Movie 300. Let me think. First of all , before any opinion , Do you know any thing about Iran , Xerxes , Greece and the real facts and events of the war between Iran and Greece? Thank you if you just think of a big and rich nation such Iran after researching its facts in history.
Best regards.
