I never hear about black kids shooting up their school and targeting only white people.

Because it's societally "weird" for a "white" child to act out in such a manner. We, as a society, have been essentially "numbed" to violence among minority children (not just African-American children, but Latin American and Asian American children, too) because of the media exposure such crimes have received. To be completely honest with you, that's pretty sad, I think. But, that's the press for you.
School violence (especially shootings) happens every day, unfortunately. And, it's not just the "white" kids or the "black" kids. It's the kids of ALL ethnic groups.
