Books are the best friend one could ever have, but the interest to read a particular book is entirely dependent on the person concerned. If one has got some initial knowledge about the subject matter of the book ,he will be immediately tempted to read it and get more knowledge ,but, in case the subject matter is like Greek to the person then he may not be curious to go through the book and hence will not get the knowledge about the subject. Therefore, Books does not give wisdom where none was existing before, but definitely enhances the wisdom where some was existing before.

That is a wonderful saying, did you think of it? I understand that reading can enhance knowledge already obtained, but I do believe that to the empty mind a written word can also enlighten them to new information. Wisdom is aqcuired through experience and I suppose can only be increased not learned. Good thoughts to ponder thank you!
