Jordan 44 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists.... guess that's known as a single double.
Jordan did play a great game that day, though!
But no, it's not the greatest game performance ever televised.
The greatest deciding game performance ever televised was Bill Russell's 30 point, 40 rebound performance in game 7 of the finals against the Lakers in 1962... (yeah, I know we didn't see it, but it WAS televised). Elgin Baylor had scored 61 points in the 5th game of that series, helping the Lakers to take a 3-2 series lead.
Magic's 42 point, 15 rebound performance in the deciding (sixth) game of the 1980 finals had to be as good as Jordan's first round game against Cleveland... at least Magic had a double double... and, Magic was a 20-year-old rookie... even Jamaal Wilkes had a quiet 37 point, 10 rebound double-double in the same game, but never received any credit for it. This game was televised (albeit via tape delay, except in LA and Philly, which showed the game live).
Reggie Miller's back to back 3 pointers against the Knicks...those were also televised.
Jordan's game is up there all right, but it's not necessarily the best performance ever televised. Besides, if you can't score on Craig Ehlo, you shouldn't be in the NBA in the first place.

I agree with you that this may be the greatest performance of all time. I would just like to point out that there are other basketball games with great individual performances. I'm talking about Wilt's 100, Kobe's 81, Baylor's 72, etc. If you don't remember, Tracy McGrady performed an unmatched feat against the future champions of the 2004-2005 season, the San Antonio Spurs. I recall that was only about less than a minute until regulation and the Rockets were down by 13. Guess what, Houston won that game. McGrady barraged the Sours with 3's. I remember his 3rd three-pointer going in while he was fouled.
In a championship game for the Bulls in the 90's, Michael Jordan, I think, put in his best performance. He scored 38 points while he had a 38 degree Celsius fever. With his performance, the Bulls won that crucial game. Do you remember Magic when he was a rookie? He lifted the Lakers to victory over Dr. J and the 76er's. He was a point guard who played at center and became the most valuable player of the series.
You see, there were many other great performances. Thanks for the question, though.

particular!! It must be. Wilt's overall performance sounds like it replaced into centuries in the past, and if he can exxag. the type of ladies he slept with, then something is available. 2d maximum suitable replaced into Kobe's to boot, sixty two factors in in simple terms 3 quarters againts the Mavs, the team that made it to the finals final 365 days! Even Phil Jackson replaced into inspired and he expressed it too, on condition that Phil coached MJ, and isnt actually inspired. you be attentive to that Kobe could are starting to be to be his eighty one and much extra in that interest, yet he chosen to take a seat the 4th quarter out. guy i myself choose he stayed, so people who're asserting that scoring eighty one against the Raptors replaced into ordinary could close up. sixty two factors in 3 quarters, against a team that went to the finals that 365 days. BEAT THAT!

One of the classics but not the best. There are plenty of great games in the NBA history including many from Magic and Bird.
