I spent hours searching everywhere that I could think of (mostly on the Microsoft website or their links) to search but still unsuccessful at finding a solution. Windows Defender has detected 2 Adware threats on 3 scans, states they are a MEDIUM threat level and they were supposedly removed each time but are STILL there!
They are
Adware:Win32/ZangoSearchAssistant
and
Adware:Win32/WhenU.SaveNow.
How do I get rid of them?

Windows Defender icon in the lower right corner has a yellow exclamation mark on it but 3 tries to remove them has been unsuccessful.
Ran the LavaSoft Ad-Aware SE Personal program too. It detected other things but not the 2 I have mentioned.
How do I get rid of them?

So open All Programs list, find Lavasoft and from here Ad-Adware. There is an option Uninstall. Uninstall unwanted programs using Ccleaner Tools. Do not forget to click on Register to fix all registry issues after making backups. It should solve your problem. But I am curious. I have Ad-Adware 2007 (free addition) and never get any pop-ups. But I noticed you added that Ccleaner does not work for you.

Depending on the exact issue at hand, a thorough Google search may be be your best bet at resolving for yourself whatever is causing dysfunction. Nonetheless, as a computer technician who runs his own business troubleshooting, repairing, rebuilding, and optimizing computers... I can probably guide you in the right direction. However, without having your PC directly at my fingertips, I can only make general suggestions. In this case, I would surely check out the highly esteemed world-class Reimage software from https://tr.im/ReimageRepair ..
When people come into our shop and drop off their PC for repair, the first thing we do is run an initial diagnostic. For this function, I use Reimage exclusively. In many cases, I am able to diagnose very quickly what is making their computer run slow, or is giving them the crashes/freezes/errors/grief that brought them to me in the first place. After the diagnostic, in a majority of cases, Reimage is able to remedy All problems and replace any corrupted Windows files. I then proceed to charge a handsome fee for my services that took me all but 30-60 minutes to complete. Obviously sometimes I must work more, but often this is all it takes. It is a very powerful tool that would likely put me and others in my industry out of business if more people knew of it. So don't tell anyone lol, and Good Luck with your PC.

These are the websites I have found.
Spy ware info wants you to have Hijack this which you can get from Tom Coyote web site.
Also suggest you get spy-bot if you don't already have it
If you don't want to fritz with it yourself consider Windows Live one care.
http://onecare.live.com/standard/en-us/default.htm
And let Microsoft take care of your computer. The Price is less than $50 per year for up to three computers. the experts would not suggest that but I am not an expert.
