It's present simple tense passive.

The active of that sentence would be "The setting affects Montressor".

The sentence should be Montressor was also affected by the setting. Affected is a past tense. Is is a present tense, cant mix the two.

Get is present tense, got is past tense. ie, can you get me the new Fall Out Boy cd? ie. I've got the new FOB cd.

Is affected is present tense because of the word is.

If it really bothers you though, change it to "The setting also affects Montressor.." That will change it from passive to active voice and teachers generally prefer active voice.

Get is also present tense.

in the phrase "is affected", "affected" is not acting like a verb (at least, not in the sense that you mean). The verb here is "is", and so the sentence is in present tense.

"get" is present tense "I get the book down from the shelf."

The words..."is also" indicate the present tense....that other part is not the main verb, but a quote within the sentence.

is affected is present

grew sick is past so you may try.. My heart feels/grows/is/seems sick

it was the dampness - is also past.. not sure if that needs to be present as well.. if it does use - it is the dampness of the catacombs that makes it so...

"Montressor is affected" is in the present tense however "my heart grew sick" is not.
"get" is also present tense.

Joshua is wrong, everyone else is right. 'Is' is the verb, and it's in the present tense. You can't say 'is affect'. It's the same as 'is grown', 'is driven', etc.

It's present if you mean that's still being affected. Otherwise it would be "was affected" instead of "is affected."
