He's never really been fussy like this before? We are staying with my in-laws for a few weeks while my husbands gone training for a new job, I'm stressed and I know that can affect the baby too. But, there's no other symptoms except a lot more fussiness throughout the day, and the things I can usually do to console him don't work as well. One minute he'll be fine and smiling and kicking around the next he's starts crying, like that coughing type crying? Do babies have fussy periods even when they didn't during the normal "colicky period"????Thanks 1st baby!

You might wanna try putting him on his/her belly on your forearm and try burping the baby like that. It might very well be just a belly ache. Also with my first son he would have many moments where he was very fussy and nothing helped him at all, and I thought he might have colic, but come to find out it was his formula. It made his belly gassy so we had to switch a few times to get the right kind for him. I would recommend that you call the baby's doctor and set up an appointment just in case, cause it may very well be colic but it is always good to find out. And another thing is is that many babies do just have those times where they don't want to do nothing but cry. I know it gets very frustrating especially since your a new Mommy and at this point doing it alone so to speak, but everything will blow over and be fine. It is just getting through the tough times that seem to take forever. But like I have said, I would make an appointment just to be sure that way if it is something that can be taken cared of by a doctor then at least you know what you can do to help. I wish you all the luck in the world to you and your new family and I hope I was able to help.

When my son was a baby and we would go and spend a night at my sister's or mom's it is like he knew we were not home. He would not sleep and would cry.
I thought something that had to be it because he wouldn't go on like that while we were home. When we went home the next day he was not at all fussy. I think they know they are not home.
