From Wikipedia
Multi-point fuel injection
Multi-point fuel injection injects fuel into the intake port just upstream of the cylinder's intake valve, rather than at a central point within an intake manifold. MPFI systems can be sequential, in which injection is timed to coincide with each cylinder's intake stroke, batched, in which fuel is injected to the cylinders in groups, without precise synchronisation to any particular cylinder's intake stroke, or Simultaneous, in which fuel is injected at the same time to all the cylinders.
All modern EFI systems utilize sequential MPFI. Some Toyotas and other Japanese cars from the 1970s to the early 1990s used an application of Bosch's multipoint L-Jetronic system manufactured under license by DENSO.

S.F.I. is fuel injection that it actuated(by the computer of course) to introduce fuel into combustion chamber in sequence according to engine firing order. other types include banked, where fuel is injected in pairs according to number of cylinders; two cylinders for a four cylinder engine, three cylinders for a six cylinder, and so on, this system injects both cylinders that are at top-dead-center at the same time. Yet another system is the C.F.I., or, central fuel injection-this system has one, or two injectors positioned in the throttle body that inject in a pulse-type mode continuosly for all cyls, be it a four, six, or eight cylinder engine. This is not all inclusive, but merely gives you the idea of different fuel delivery systems used today. Hope this answers your question.

As the name suggests there are more than one fuel ports for injection in the same volume and this ports are used for not all at once but in seguence. I guess to keep the torque flat.

Basically, it's fancy speak for computer controlled fuel injection with more computer control then normal fuel injection.
