I think you are refering to "seeing stars" when someone hits on the head hard enough. This is because your eyes have been shaken hard enough to trigger the sensors.

You are watching too much TV (cartoons no less).

Most peope see stars when they are hit on the head (stars as in Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star . . .NOT hollywood).
