Plastic surgery varies widely in price! The price depends on: what kind of surgery, factors involved with the surgery, the surgeon, and the location. For example, in the US, plastic surgery prices are generally cheaper down South and out in the Midwest regions than it would be in the expensive New England area. Must I EMPHASIZE the importance in thoroughly researching the surgery, procedure, and surgeon prior to seriously considering it??

About payment...again, this varies according to the surgeon. Most surgeons expect to have the full amount of surgery paid up prior to the actual surgery. Most surgeons accept cash, check, OR credit card. Some surgeons offer financing, most of which is through an external bank or financial institution; however, you need good credit to qualify. You can also try obtaining a personal loan through a bank or credit union, but you would also need to have good credit for this, plus income verification and a logical sounding "reason" for needing this money(a lot of banks do not like loaning money for a "want" item like plastic surgery). There are also some programs out there that make borrowing money easier for those with less-than-stellar credit. For example, the site www doctors say yes dot com has a program where almost ANYONE interested in a loan to cover breast implants can obtain one; the catch is, the person must get the surgery done with one of the surgeons in the website's network(so you can't necessarily go to your choice surgeon). The other catch is, sometimes if a person's credit is REALLY bad, they will have to pay a down payment(similar to what you do when you buy a new car).

Okay now about my own plastic surgery...I had surgery 2yrs ago. I got breast implants, and they costed $5500. This is a fair price for my geographical area(Philadelphia), plus I went to a very well-reputed doctor that does natural looking work. In my opinion, it is worth the extra money to go to a respectable surgeon. The difference between a bad boob job and a good one might be say, $500-1500 more, but that's only a fraction of the total cost, so in my opinion it's definitely best to get a "good" surgery done the first time around! Am I happy with my surgery?...yes, yes, and yes! I do not regret it at all.

If you are considering plastic surgery, it is essential that you understand the basic plastic surgery costs for the specific procedure that you are interested in. Your financial obligations will depend on the procedure planned, your geographic region, your surgeon’s fees, and where the procedure will be performed. All basic plastic surgery costs and secondary costs should be clearly defined to you in the process of informed consent. To help you understand the basic plastic surgery costs better, you will be given a specific breakdown of the cost of any procedure based on surgeon’s fees, surgical facility fees, the fees for anesthesia, and fees for special medical devices (such as special post-surgical garments). You may also need to pay for preoperative lab work, although lab work may be covered by your plastic surgery insurance.

Plastic surgery prices depend on the person, there is no fix price. I found a list of prices online at Vanity Cosmetic , listed by procedure, but even there they say that its just a starting price and that the prices are not set.

Plastic surgery is too general to say there's exactly one price. It really depends on what you are getting. You can get liposuction done for $2,000, but depending on where you live it could be $6,000. It's the same situation for rhinoplasty, tummy tucks, breast augmentation, etc. It really just depends on where you live and the quality of the procedure you want to get done.

Plastic surgery is very safe nowadays. My cousin got her breast reduction, tummy tuck and facelift surgery in India by the company called Forerunners Healthcare .The Price for the surgery she paid in India was very less. She paid 30% of the cost she was quoted in America.

Forerunners Healthcare is very famous in India. They arrange cosmetic and plastic surgery for foreigners in India. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories. They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery abroad for low price, as the breast reduction, tummy tuck, facelift and other cosmetic surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

Hope this helps.
