I think we're too complicated for budding or regeneration or other means of asexual reproduction. We're not the only ones, either. Other vertebrates have the same limitations.

We can!! Here is how you do it. Get a minor league baseball bat, some astroglide lubricant and a bowl of sourkraut with heavy paprika. Sit in the bowl for 10 minutes, right when it feels like your anus is about to catch on fire. Then jump on the fat end of the bat. Spin in three circles and bear down. Thats it, you did it. Anecdotally, the success rate is higher if you have somebody videotape it for you and upload to the internet. Good Luck.

Our cells, for the most part, have lost their ability to regenerate. Our sex cells contain only one-half of the full compliment of chromosomes (genes) for our species. Sexual reproduction allows us to get the full set.
